The PDF files can be downloaded, opened, and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader, a program offered free from the Adobe website. If you have difficulty downloading the PDF files, consult the Adobe Support for Acrobat Reader or read the instructions below.

PDF Files and Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 5)

Portable Document Format (pdf) files can be seen on the screen (and printed) in the exact format created by the document developer. Adobe Acrobat Reader, free software available for Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX systems, is required to read pdf files. If you have not already installed the Adobe Acrobat Reader software, you will need to download the most current version appropriate for your computer system from the Adobe website. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is freely available to the public and may be redistributed.

There are reports that Adobe Acrobat Reader does NOT work correctly when configured to work as a plugin with some web browsers. To turn off the plugin option do the following:

  1. Start adobe acrobat
  2. Select Edit ... Preferences ... General
  3. Deselect the "Display PDF in Browser" checkbox under Options
  4. Press the OK button
  5. Close adobe acrobat
